Disconnection Issues
Not sure if this belongs here, if its in wrong forum I apologise.
Basically I have been spamming sweet tooth track and had quite a few dc's even in GH, but my character always seens to jump to Kamadan, even when I was in Rata Sum once it went to Kamadan. I have never given out passwords, which are changed each week, character name field has never been changed since day 1, and I am worried somebody maybe some how be entering my account, especially as it sometimes says after hte Disconnect that my login has timed out, and the box appears and asks me to sign in again, and this is always only after 1 minute or less, never any longer, this is in the character slots window, anybody else having this problem. oh and I have ran a full scan and found nothing.. Would be nice to know my account is safe so I can sign off/log off in peace..... Last edited by Invalid Shadow; Apr 03, 2010 at 05:08 PM // 17:08.. Reason: correct spelling |

If all this has been happening just today, then I have been also getting the disconnects.
I basically set myself to another weekend I wont be able to enjoy, because of disconnects. I wouldn't be too worried about you for some unknown reason being teleported to somewhere you weren't before the disconnect. It happens sometimes, I believe that it happens because you were already lagging before you moved and the server doesn't know what location you are actually in and simply puts you in the last location it saved you in. |

Yes I quit GW an hour ago because I had 8 d/c's within half an hour. (reconnectable d/c's, error7's and error58's, seen it all today). Will try again later tonight...
And yes, sometimes disconnects can cause you to map to a different town than you were last before you d/c'd. No need to worry about account safety if this just happens after d/c's. Most of the time you go to the last town though. Like Xenex says, usually you end up in a weird town if there is extreme server lag or something. Also, if you have a character in your guild hall, you can see on the character selection screen already if you're going to end up in the guild hall on connecting or in the last town. If you're going to end up in the guild hall, the location of the char on char selection screen ("Currently in:") says 'Guild Hall'. If you're going to end up in the last town, it says '<name of guild hall (e.g. Hunter's Isle)>'. Last edited by Dzjudz; Apr 03, 2010 at 06:01 PM // 18:01.. |

I'm had this issue occasionally ever since I started playing, since I disconnect frequently due to wireless issues on my own end-- it almost seems like the game sometimes can't "remember" where I was. It doesn't seem related to how long I remained disconnected, but it does seem related to when I started lagging before the initial disconnect, like somehow during the lag my location isn't accurately tracked.
I don't think it's an account security issue. I think it's just a result of the way the game keeps track of data. It is indeed annoying when you're getting a lot of disconnects though. I too get asked to re-enter my password sometimes even on short disconnects. Last edited by Anakita Snakecharm; Apr 03, 2010 at 06:20 PM // 18:20.. |

Its the goddamn easter bunny chewing thru phone wires.
Seriously tho ive had bad lag spikes in last few hrs which i cant say is due to event or not - farming vaetires hm same as st pats day which im sure many others are as well - but pats day i didnt suffer any lag like this. As many say the lag may not always be at anets end - bad weather somewhere could affect lines and our connections etc but i do hope it sorts itself out soon otherwise me and easter bunny will have a meeting and i`ll have him over for lunch literally lol |
